Review by Alleandra
I finished James Stoddard's The High House last evening before going to see End of Days. This is a first novel, and I must say, I enjoyed it thoroughly. The characters are pretty well drawn up, and the plot entertaining, although parts were predictable. All and all, a very nice debut novel. His 2nd book, The False House is due out January 2000. Both books are paperback editions, btw. The premise is: the High House seems to be a gateway between our world, other worlds and heaven. The Master of the House has special powers and aids those from other countries as he can. There are a group of baddies that threaten the Master and the House, and that is where the action of this story lies.
