Hey, has anyone read this book? I've been using my kindle to get library books for most of my reading lately, which means my selection is severely limited by what's available in the "e-library". I've been trying a lot of things at random that seem to be well reviewed by other readers, and there's a lot of crap - but this one caught me by surprise.

It's a sort of post-apocalyptic story, kind of similar to a zombie-virus-outbreak movie, but not actually zombies... But I found it very well done, and I really got into it. I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel from the library (and the 3rd in the trilogy is expected in 2014).

Anyone else? I don't typically read this type of thing, it's closer to horror than to most fantasy - but I really liked it.

I haven't read it because it isn't in my wheelhouse so to speak but I have a good friend who has been bugging me to try it. They loved it and are currently reading the next one.

yeah I read it last year. Was surprisingly well done, with several unexpected plot twists. I believe there may even be a film coming out...

I was just thinking about reading this book in 2014. My reading plan in 2013 went great (purposely seeking out books on older Best Of lists so they'd be in paperback and maybe even have the series complete) that I want to try it again. This book keeps popping up. I thought it wasn't really something I would enjoy, but maybe I should try it.

Holy crap. I started the sample a few nights ago and finished the book last night. That was one hell of a good read. And terrifying. I would not want to read it if I was alone in the house! I'm reading the book club book right now and will read the second in the series next!

Just bumping this topic - I highly recommend the Passage. Loved it, about to start book 2. If you are looking for a new read, get this one!

I am almost 70% done with it and have been bored almost the whole time. Its just now picking up. I certainly don't find it (so far) very original, well written or scary. It would make a good movie though I think.
