A long, long time ago when I was a lass of around 11, my Mom bought a bunch of books for me as stocking stuffers at Christmas. One was Wuthering Heights, and one was Pride and Prejudice...I cannot remember the others though. Anyway I LOVED P&P and devoured all the Jane Austin books. I also discovered that a sequel to P&P called Pemberley Shades had been written in the 1940's by an author who never wrote another book. I looked in my library (not really expecting much) and discovered the book was in the card catalog, but sadly missing from the shelves. Yes, I did say card catalog, as we are dealing with ancient history here. I was around 13/14 when I had discovered the sequel.

I did keep up the search in a desultory fashion over the years, looking in some used bookshops in NYC and other places and of course, no luck. But flash forward to the present age, and lo and behold...Jane Austin has another popularity boom, people are writing P&P new sequels AND, Pemberley Shades is reissued, including on Kindle no less. And I now have it after an almost lifelong search, I have this book...and it probably will suck, but I am glad to have it never the less. lol

lol No, TKB, I don't think I will be. I was tempted, but had read that they use actual passages from the original P&P and incorporate the zombies into the prose. That seems pretty lazy to me, so was a huge turnoff. lol

I heard enough people liked the zombie version that a movie of it is in production.
