This thread is for discussion of the book The Dragon's Path by Daniel Abraham, up to the end of page 209 in my trade paperback copy. (end of chapter "Cithrin")

Definitely enjoying the book now, I really want to keep going.

Was Marcus' wife a Cinnae? I don't remember it specifically saying so, but Yardem mentions quite a bit that Cithrin reminds Marcus of his dead daughter. I know Cithrin is an orphan so I was definitely wondering if there was a lost daughter thing going on, but Marcus very clearly remembers holding his daughter's body as she died...

I don't like the sections where Geder is reading his translations/essays. I know they are probably important, but they are boring!

Love how Geder is getting his own back at Klin, and didn't turn Cithrin's caravan in.

Still confused about the good guy/bad guy thing - Dawson is our hero-like guy, defending the honour of the king. Except the things he wants to defend, the old traditions, seem the kind of thing we don't really honour today....

I finally figured out how to see page numbers on my Kindle and I am way ahead of where I thought I was.

I think Marcus's wife must have been a Cinnae.

I'm not going to say anything else, since it will all be spoilers. I'll post at the next page marker.

"Won't say any thing more"? Bah, i suppose I'll have to read some more then. And here I was so proud making it to this posting point.

Yes, I enjoy the book too. Nice to see Cithrin show somw spirit at the dressmaker's, but I suppose that kind of stuff will get her in trouble in the end. OK, back to business.

I agree, it was nice to see Cithrin doing something she was good at. It was fun to see the acting troupe again and I am wondering how they will be reentered into the main plot.

Unless the farmer's are making ridiculous demands, Dawson is a jerk. Damn peasants...stay in your place! lol
