Done with aCoS. With the Bowels of the Wind and crush Sammael plot lines starting in LoC it definitely felt like I read the second half of a single book. And next I will start the never-ending plot lines... Elayne for the throne and Perrin/Shaido... yay?

But even though the flesh may be weak we shall prevail, precious. My projected end date for the re-read is September 13, 2012.

Just started my re-read of the series last week. I'm already surprised at how far back some of these plot seeds go. It's already an effort not to get annoyed with Nynaeve. And I'm already back in love with Min.

Just wait until you have Nynaeve AND the Kinswomen together. That's what's been killing me lately. At least I'm done with PoD. The end is painful. Rand on the Run, Succession Start and the Kidnapping of Faile. Bleak.

In any case, onward! Though starting Feb 7th I will take a break from the re-read to enjoy the new Hobb.

Now I have 'Rand on the Run' playing in my head to the tune of Paul McCartney's Band on the Run. I'll have to invent some lyrics to work with it. *lol*

Good progress today. Saving With the Choedan Kal until tomorrow, then...

I'm just about to finish FoH. For some reason, I forgot that

It just totally went by me. I'm making better progress than I expected, but I guess it's easier to reread when you know where you can skim (read: laborious descriptions and repetitions). Also, I hope the final book explains just how much Moiraine found out about goings on from her Rhuiden experience. Her letter to Rand she wrote in preparation for the Lanfear Experience did, in retrospect, speak volumes.

As the books pass, it's evident that the final volume is going to be either very sizable or disappointing in its tying of loose ends. I hope it's sizable. Tor has to know it would be forgiven by us if it's a serious brick.

Done with CoT!!! I'm pretty sure it was my first full re-read of that book. RJ definitely had been smoking the good stuff when he wrote it.

On the home stretch now...

I'm about half way through PoD. I think I skimmed over about the first 25% of the book. So much squabbling.

I used to think I disliked Elayne and Faile, but with the Kin and the Sea Folk around, they seem positively endearing by comparison. Honestly, I think I like Faile a lot more this go around. I suppose being married to an occasionally... volatile wife has given me some perspective on the matter. Hm.

Ok I broke down and started the whole blood and bloody series too. I have read the first 5 or 6 books 5 or 6 times I think. It felt like visiting with old friends tho, starting over, I have to admit. We'll see how far I get before major skimming commences.

OMG, CoT is slowly killing me. Even with prodigious skimming, it feels like it's taking forever.

Wimp! I soaked up every single word, then rushed through KoD for good measure. I started TGS this week.

Oh and good luck, DQ! There is no such thing as skimming...

when does this final book come out again? Maybe I need to think about doing this... *sigh*

I'm fine to reread the first 5 or 6, but I will take the luxury of not just skimming, but happily page-flipping past much of books 8-10 (Elayne, Kinwomen, Faile and Shaido, etc, etc, etc....)

I'm still gonna wait until I have the final book on my shelf before I do the great re-read... just in-case he trolls us and says "you know what guys... there is just too much to cover in only 2 final books... I'm starting the final-final-final book as soon after I re-re-read the entire series"

You might want to consider just reading the chapter synopses for Crossroads of Tediousness. I'm almost done, but by god, I want to chew my leg off to get out of this trap! If I didn't know it was going to get better next book, I's be done with the series.

As a matter of fact, here's a synopsis of the whole book for you:

*lol* That nicely sums up Crossroads of Crap. I think I will start rereading from KoD come Fall. Unlike most people reading the series, I didn't much care for The Gathering Storm, basically because I am not a huge BS fan and I didn't like his take on most of the characters. He got a lot better in the next book though.

okay, so I've joined in. I went through EotW on my kindle in a remarkably short time. I was surprised by how much I still felt the suspense and got caught up in it (although I can't help but roll my eyes every time one of the guys thinks how much better the others are with women, etc.)

I'm starting tGH, but I was really exhausted a few nights in a row, so it took me a few tries to get all the way through the freaking prologue.

Thoughts: Egwene really annoys me, but I actually like Nynaeve early on. (I'm sure it will wear off soon). I can't believe how much of a bumpkin Rand is, and also how he's not a total arrogant jackass like he becomes later *lol* Mat is the same as always, although a bit more of an idiot. Perrin is already annoying me with his moping.

I've really missed the early days when the group was all together, though - I guess I have that to look forward to in the final book!
Memories of Light: the Great Reunion.

Anyway.

My great read has begun...although I should really be only revising for exams. Perhaps my literature examiners will credit WOT for wider reading...
