Hearing the name Oregon Trail must bring back memories to anyone who's ever played it. Most likely these are fond memories.

I was wondering who of us have played this and has anyone gotten their entire family across safely?

This game is such a gem and a wonderful piece of my past. I think I'll have to play it soon for old time sake.

I only played it when I was like...8....way back before color monitors were available to schools. It was totally sweet! I don't think any member of my family ever survived, but I do remember there was always one person who seemed to straggle on without the rest, I always wondered how he fared without his family =c

I don't remember, when I was a kid, how often if I ever I completed it with everyone alive.

I know I generally kill everyone on the facebook version, because it's impossible to play unless you invite friends to play (that's how you get money) and I hate spamming my friends with invites.

First played it in fourth grade. I still play it on an Apple II emulator. Love, love, love it.

Pat has cholera.

Pat has died.

Here lies Pat. He was Fat. Then he died.

I've got a lot of fond oregon trail memories. Was always fun when you screwed up or had an accident or ran out of supplies and you jsut pushed the wagon and pushed it to see how far you could get before everyone died. Broken axle? who needs those! Dead oxen? we'll drag the wagon behind us like Jenn Aiel!

Oregon Trail is part of the holy trinity which included prime number munchers and Odell Lake!!

I LOVED that game! Actually a friend of mine brought it to my house a few months ago. EPIC. I remember when I got excited about the "new" versions that you could actually read the gravestones as you rode by.

I adored this game, but after a while, it got kinda easy. Everyone I know chose the banker b/c they started with the most money, but then they'd keel over and dir. I always went with the farmer b/c it was like a guaranteed win.

The sad thing is that even though I had an Apple IIe at home, I never had Oregon Trail. I only played it at school.

It's curious--I hear so many people talk about how rough it was and how everybody in their wagon kept dying, but I never had that much trouble. I always reached Oregon, usually only losing one or two people. I just kept stopping to fish and hunt and gather veggies... I hated rivers, though. Kept losing clocks.

Haha, what a classic game :D

For me, it was pretty easy, but my people dying was annoying.
Overall, the game was fun... I should play it again sometime
