Yeah, I never thought i'd see a cover i liked as much or more than To Green Angel Tower, but this qualifies. Pretty much perfect. Some people are bitching about certain aspects of the cover on other wheel of time forums, proof that people will bitch about anything. Funny thing is though Whelan got stuff more right that the people bitching. i.e. that can't be ___ because the hair is too short, as if they hadn't even read the last book... *shakes head*

Pretty nice, actually. The only thing I would like to have seen was the black-and-silver clouds in the background. But then, maybe Rand's Purifying Presence has some effect on that, as well, in the forthcoming book. I do hope there's a random dragkhar on the back cover.

*lol* Actually, he IS no Sweet: he actually has a sense of perspective and proportion...note Rand's head is the right size for his body in this picture. ;-p Sorry, but I loathed the Sweet covers. Whelan uses a similar color palette here (which was on purpose) so it does fit in with the rest of the covers, but for me, its a vast improvement in quality.

I couldn't believe it when I saw he was doing the cover. He did a great job keeping it with the style of the past covers, while making it actually really good! They should hire him to do his own Whelan style covers on the whole series. I'd really like to see what he did with them.

The "full cover" version is at the bottom of the page after all the concept drawings. No random draghkars or trollocs - dreadfully disappointing *lol*

I had mixed feelings at first sight, but it's growing on me.

Wow. Can't believe this freaking saga's nearly complete. Do I need to do a reread or something? Hah! Good luck to me finishing my PhD if I do that... *lol*

It is the colors. But it is also Rand looking cheesy. All my covers fell off anyway though.

On the topic of covers, I didn't realize this guy re-did ALL of book covers! I finally started Memory of Light and noticed on Amazon in the recommendation section all of the other books with covers in the matching style of the new. I know new covers come out for books all the time and it makes sense, but I don't know how I feel about this.

For those of you with collections, are you going to have to buy all the new covers now?

Yes, I want to read that book! Sounds like something James Cameron came up with.
